My dear daughter, Emri was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in October, 2021. She underwent surgery and had the 18cm tumor removed from her left ovary. She lost her left ovary and fallopian tube at that time. She was in stage 1C which meant she would only undergo surveillance and no chemotherapy at that time. Unfortunately the cancer returned 9 months later in her para aortic lymph nodes. She underwent surgery once again and had 23 lymph nodes removed. This time around it was stage 3 which meant chemotherapy and radiation. Due to the toxic side effects of chemo and radiation, her remaining fallopian tube is severely damaged. She is not married nor in a relationship at this time. She will be 31 years old in September of this year. She would like to retrieve and freeze some eggs before she is in menopause, which is coming soon for her. The type of chemotherapy she had causes early menopause and she is already in the beginning stages of perimenopause at this time. Time is running out to get those eggs retrieved and frozen for future use. Her uterus is in good shape, praise be. She is hopeful to be a mommy someday, when the right man comes along and she can utilize her own eggs for IVF.
